Air Transport Components (ATC) announced today it will locate its headquarters and open a maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) facility in Tulsa.

Based in Gilbert, Ariz., ATC provides repair and overhaul services for components and accessories found on both commercial and military air transport aircraft. The 60,000-square-foot facility in Tulsa will offer thermal spray coatings, grinding, non destructive testing and painting, with future plans to expand capabilities. ATC will invest approximately $5 million in the building, including technology and equipment. Once completed, ATC will employ 50 people.

“Due to increased volume, new capabilities, and the unique opportunities that the state of Oklahoma provides, ATC decided to expand its strong industry brand into Tulsa,” says Jimmy Newman, chief executive officer of ATC. “The MRO and aerospace workforce in Oklahoma is unmatched and was certainly the deciding factor when looking at expansion options.”

Tulsa’s Future, the Chamber-led regional economic development partnership, worked with the Oklahoma Department of Commerce and the City of Tulsa to bring the company to northeast Oklahoma.

“We’re proud to welcome Air Transport Components to Tulsa and are grateful for this investment in our community,” says Arthur Jackson, senior vice president of economic development at the Tulsa Regional Chamber. “Our region’s longstanding history in the aerospace industry and our highly skilled workforce make northeast Oklahoma the ideal place to support ATC’s growing operations. We applaud the Department of Commerce, the City of Tulsa and all of our Tulsa’s Future partners who helped secure this project.”

“Welcome to Tulsa, Air Transport Components,” says Tulsa City Councilor Jayme Fowler. “Air Transport is a great addition to Tulsa’s multibillion dollar aircraft industry. Moreover, Air Transport fits in the city’s long-term strategic plan of bringing high-tech jobs and businesses to Tulsa.”
