Manufacturer Roxtec Inc. is nearly doubling the size of its operations in Tulsa with a $9.4 million expansion.

Manufacturer Roxtec Inc. is nearly doubling the size of its operations in Tulsa with a $9.4 million expansion.

Significant recent growth and future opportunities throughout North America prompted moving from a leasehold to buying a 9.5-acre property at 1140 N. 129th E. Ave. The company’s planned transition from 10127 E. Admiral Place to a newly remodeled 56,000-square-foot building represents the first real estate purchase by Roxtec outside its global headquarters in Sweden.

Roxtec Inc., Roxtec’s North American subsidiary, has called Tulsa home for more than 25 years.

“Tulsa is a great place for Roxtec to continue to grow,” says Aaron Fowler, president of Roxtec Inc. “The area provides a great variety of skilled workers and professionals to fit the needs of a global company.

“Roxtec is blessed to be a world leader in our space, and Tulsa’s combination of central location, affordability, strong workforce and values — all in a right-sized modern city — make it an ideal location for Roxtec. We look forward to building our name in the community, so it’s known that Roxtec, a global company, has chosen Tulsa as its North American headquarters.”

The new facility will encompass office space for sales support, marketing and business administration, as well as operational space for testing, light manufacturing and warehousing. The building also leaves room for future capabilities at that site.

The company’s expansion from 2022 to 2023 includes 38 new jobs across North America, 17 of which are in Tulsa.

“Roxtec’s investment in Tulsa is a testament to the kind of city we are building, and we are excited for the additional jobs being created through this expansion,” says Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum. “The company’s decision to purchase its first property in the United States marks a significant step forward for them, and we are proud to have Roxtec as a valued partner in our community’s growth and success.”

Roxtec is the world’s leading provider of modular-based cable and pipe transits and transit safety services. The company’s invention, Multidiameter™, is based on sealing modules with removable rubber layers and allows for a perfect fit.

“The decision by Roxtec Inc. to enlarge its footprint in Tulsa supports the city’s ongoing commitment to its manufacturing sector and the job opportunities it creates,” says Arthur Jackson, senior vice president of economic development for the Tulsa Regional Chamber. “We are proud of the more than quarter-century bond Tulsa has had with Roxtec, and we look forward to additional foreign direct investment from the Swedish-based company in the decades to come.”

The company’s job creation bumps to 72 the number of Tulsa employees, all of whom are scheduled to relocate from the Admiral location to the new venue by sometime in July.

“The expansion of Roxtec is a huge win for the state of Oklahoma,” says Chad Mariska, Oklahoma Secretary of Commerce and Workforce Development. “With new jobs coming to Oklahoma and doubling their operational capacity to 56,000 square feet, we are proud to call Tulsa the North American headquarters of Roxtec. This markes the first real estate purchase for Roxtex outside of Sweden. I applaud Roxtec and the Tulsa Regional Chamber for their conjoined effort in bringing the world to Oklahoma.”
