The most prominent museum in the Tulsa region is the Philbrook Museum. With 25 acres of gardens and more than 16,000 art pieces, the Philbrook is the center of art in the city. If you’re looking for something more scientific, the Discovery Lab offers fun for all ages, with interactive exhibits and performances. For those that are history buffs, the Gilcrease Museum houses extensive collections of Old West art and growing collections of Central and South American artifacts.

For art aficionados, there are an abundance of great galleries to explore. The M A Doran gallery is a favorite amongst the Tulsa art community, and it is free to the public. It has a wide array of exhibiting artists and they are regularly looking for new artists to display. Another great gallery, and the oldest one in Oklahoma is the Lovett Gallery. They display art of many mediums, both 2-D and 3-D, and the gallery owner is a master framer who provides framing services to artists and the public.

The festivals in Tulsa are as diverse as the local community that participates in them. Available all year round, you’ll never run out of fun and engaging activities for the whole family. Some of the most popular events are the Juneteenth Festival, which is the largest one in the nation and takes place over several days. There are local artists, food trucks, games, and programming to celebrate the community of Greenwood, one of Tulsa’s predominately black neighborhoods. Tulsa also hosts several events for athletes such as the Tulsa Run and Tulsa Tough, which attracts bicycle enthusiasts from across the country.
