Building Regional Talent

Tulsa Tech is part of the statewide Career Tech system, boasting seven campuses throughout the region with free tuition for high school students that live within a technology center district. Its curriculum specializes in career training in more than 90 instructional areas, and the Business & Industry Services Division provides direct and in-kind contributions to qualifying companies. The region also has five other technology centers that are a part of its manufacturing ecosystem.

From public institutions like the University of Oklahoma – Tulsa and Tulsa Community College to private institutions like Oral Roberts University and the University of Tulsa, students in the city study and gain hands-on experience for in-demand careers across all industries. Tulsa Community College is the state’s largest community college that offers 121 degrees and certificates and educates approximately 23,000 students each year.

A highly skilled talent pool is critical to northeast Oklahoma’s success. Campus Tulsa — a joint initiative of the Chamber, George Kaiser Family Foundation, and the City of Tulsa — seeks to increase the talent pool in northeast Oklahoma by engaging with college students and showcasing career opportunities, helping them build strong connections to the city. Throughout the summer of 2021, Campus Tulsa hosted professional development opportunities and interns-only events, engaging with 230 interns in its first year.
