It’s true — the aerospace & defense industries have been around for awhile in Tulsa. Since the U.S. Air Force’s bomber plant in the early 1900s, in fact. The industry has grown in the decades since, with companies such as American Airlines, L3Harris, Lufthansa Technik Component Services, Spirit AeroSystems and NORDAM all putting down landing gear in the city.
With an $11 billion annual economic impact and more than 250 businesses employing more than 46,000 people, it is clear the aerospace industry isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
